It is also called "Hulless Popcorn" Fresh popcorn flavor that simply melts in your mouth without any hard kernels or hulls. You will be the hit of the party when you make the puffcorn with caramel. (see the recipe below) Our Puffcorn is puffed full of pure goodness with a light and delicious popcorn flavor. It melts in your mouth and has no hard kernels or hulls. And like all Old Dutch snacks, our Puffcorn is always homegrown and delivered from the heart of the Upper Midwest.
Caramel Puffcorn Recipe: Use one 9 oz bag of "Old Dutch Puffcorn Curls" in a large roaster pan. In a 2 quart sauce pan cook together for 2 minutes 1/2 pound of butter (not margarine), 1 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 cup light corn syrup, add 1 tsp. baking soda to mixture. (this will cause the mixture to foam - so a 2 quart saucepan is necessary). Pour caramel mixture over the puffcorn Curls and stir until mixed. Place in 250 degree oven for 45 minutes. Stir at least every 10-15 minutes. Remove from oven, pour on wax paper and break apart. (the recipe is also on the back of the bag)
Ingredients: Degerminated Yellow Corn Meal, Vegetable Oil (may contain one or more of the following: corn, canola, cottonseed, soybean oil, sunflower [Ascorbyl Palmitate]), Salt, Artificial Flavor.
